Another restaurant that closed when I started this project. I remember passing by with all the wild fake and real plants decorating the front. I wondered if there was a Clarkson I? Who is Clarkson? So many mysteries that I think I can still solve. I did meet someone who used to work there that now works in facilities at a Latin American embassy.

Giclée is a digital printing technique that does not use a printing plate (or "block"), deriving its name from the French phrase meaning "to spray or squirt color."

This process bypasses the plate-making stage required for methods like lithography and silkscreen, instead creating the work by directly spraying high-resolution, wide-gamut inks from digital data. The prints are made using the finest materials, such as high-quality canvas, printmaking paper, and Japanese washi paper.

このプロジェクトを始めた頃に閉店してしまったお店です。お店の前を通るたびに、本物か偽物かわからない植物がたくさん飾られているのが印象的でした。クラークソン1号店はあったのだろうか、クラークソンとは誰なんだろう、と色々な謎が浮かんできて、今でも解き明かせるような気がしています。以前ここで働いていたという方に偶然会うことができました。現在は南米の大使館の施設管理で働いている。

ジークレーとは
ジークレーはフランス語の「吹き付けて色を付ける」が由来の、版を用いないデジタルプリント技法です。

この技術では、リトグラフやシルクスクリーンのように版を作る工程を省略し、デジタルデータから直接、高精細かつ広色域のインクを吹き付けて制作します。上質なキャンバス、版画用紙、和紙などの最高級の素材が使われます。
