Back in the 1955 before the Shibuya river was buried in 1961, this corner was a bakery called Mikawaya. According to “Jingumae Nichome Newspaper”, they cooked their own red bean paste and served it on toast with space to take a bite inside. Looking at the photo it seemed like it was a central part of the neighborhood where kids and moms might have stopped by for a snack or to pick up some fresh western bread and margarine.

1961年に渋谷川が暗渠化される前の1955年、この角には三河屋というパン屋がありました。「神宮前二丁目新聞」によると、自家製のあんこをトーストに乗せて提供しており、店内で食べることもできたそうです。写真を見ると、子どもたちやお母さんたちが軽食をとったり、焼きたての西洋パンやマーガリンを買いに立ち寄ったりする、地域にとって中心的な場所だったようです。
今はBen Davisなどライフスタイルブランドを扱うセレクトショップ "Bench On The Greene"のお店が入ってます。
